I'm looking for the English translation by Rabindranath Tagore of his
poem in Bengali called 'Woman'

Hi There - can I just double check - is the English translation
"Woman" or could it be "A Woman on A Pilgrimage"?  I just wanted to
doublecheck as Tagore's writings feature women quite prominently.

I have obtained a copy of "Woman" by Tagore. The poem differs slightly
from your recollection. For example, the last two lines are:
"So shall God's revelation crown your hear
As it touches the earth in bowed reverence."

The poem is 41 lines long, so I'm reluctant to reproduce it entirely
here because of copyright restrictions. Would you accept a citation to
the anthology in which it appears?

That is the poem alright. I recognize those two last lines.
Telling me which anthology it appears in is useless to me as I live in
a small town in Ireland and there are no Tagore books in the LIbrary
here. Tried to order some Tagore books from Amazon and it was not in
it. I would accept your citation if it directed me to an internet page
with the text of the poem on it.

Tagore has been dead 50 years this year and lots of people are
recording his songs and using his writings for free this year. I
believe you can write the text  here.

There is no copyright problem. Please post the text.

Although Woman is not among them, you can download a few of Tagore's
works from Project Gutenberg.

The copyright that Visvabharati University had on Rabindrasangeet's
work has not been extended by the Indian government, according to <a
href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/1740556.stm">this
BBC article</a> from 3 January 2002.  Publishers in Kolkata are
printing anthologies of his work, so it is OK for a Google researcher
to post the English text of 'Woman'.  I'll give juggler a chance to
post the text and claim the prize because of finding it first, but if
juggler refuses, I'll post the text in one or two days.

I'm sorry, but the English version of "Woman" was translated by
Aurobindo Bose, who's apparently still alive. His translation is still
in print and may be subject to copyright protection. I simply cannot
post the entire poem in this forum.
