Hi,
Is Ponstel addictive?  Does it "mimic" the effect of a narcotic?  
I was prescribed it and I am hesitant to take it.

Thank you for your question.  

Ponstan/Ponstel contains the active ingredient mefenamic acid and is
not a narcotic and not addictive.  This medication is prescribed for
menstrual cramps and other types of pain.

Ponstel is classifed as a Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (also called NSAIDs).
