What is the forest cover in india? I am trying to calculate potential
tiger or leopard habitat, so this number should include:
- Areas where effecient management can still improve degraded habitat
in a 5-10 year time frame
- Linkages to other forest tracts is an advantage
- Type of geography (rainfall, flora, prey base, etc)
Answer

Why bother with such calculations ?

The darn things will be pretty well extinct in a few years
- and good riddance

We have replaced them in the food chain
- and they will be killed by poachers selling their reproductive
organs to China as aphrodisiacs
