Hi Everyone: I have a young boy who was recently diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. There are experimental treatments that have worked in reversing this condition early on which have been proven out with clinical trials. These trials specifically involved Exendin-4 (also referred to as Exedin-4, it's a drug derived from the Gila Monster of all things) as well as antilymphocyte serum (which is what is given to persons who just underwent liver transplants to prevent organ rejection). Both of these drugs are proven safe for human use with no material side effects and any qualified doctor could prescribe. Due to the early nature of his disease I cannot wait for approved treatments to be widely accepted in the U.S. I am searching for a doctor who is willing to administer treatment. Perhaps U.S. based doctors would not be willing to conduct such experimental treatment so I imagine that the right approach could be to be a doctor or "medical tourist" facility overseas. Thanks! |
