Dear ricardo60,

Like in the United Kingdom, the electrical power system in Italy uses
230V 50hz electricity. This means, there should be no problems with
voltage and frequency. However, they have different outlets and plugs.
Therefore, you will have to use adaptors to connect your appliances to
Italian power outlets.

The plugs/outlets used in Italy are now the two-pin types used in most
countries of continental Europe. However, there are still three-pin
outlets after older Italian standards. You should wait and see what
type of outlet you will find in your new house and then buy the
respective adaptors in Italy.

A small point, but you may be better off looking for adapters here in
the UK, where they're very easy to buy - try looking at the turntables
of goods intended for tourists in shops like Boots or W H Smiths. In
my experience, small electricals like that are more difficult to
purchase in Italy, especially if you're moving to a rural area.

If your moveis permanent or long enough you may just forget about
adapters and cut off the old plugs. You can replace them with the
standard ones you buy n Italy. Please be careful to the amperage
required by your applicances.

This way will be much cheaper.
