I have never tried this software, but it sounds as if it might meet your needs: http://www.riverpast.com/en/prod/videoslice/index.php |

I thought QuickTime Pro might be a little too obvious. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find anything that does multiple splits. Maybe someone else will. |

do you want to splitted sections to be able to playback in their splitted form? If playback is required I would seriously consider Quicktime Pro. It is the most easy to use application for this purpose. I mean, open the movie in Quiktime. select the region (SHIFT + drag), cut (CTRL+X), new player (CTRL+N), paste(CTRL+V) I cannot think of a more simple workflow. One thing you have to watch out for is that you save with source (don't know the specific name/buttons right now) otherwise you only make a shortcut to the selected section in the original movie. But you will notice it if the filesize is to small. If playback isn't necessary, you can use the FREE command prompt program 'split' http://www.martinvogel.de/prog/split.exe. type 'split -b 635m fileToSplit.mov' (without the quotes). this will split the file into 635 MB large pieces named xaa, xab, xac etc. to join again use the program 'cat'. Type 'cat xaa xab xac > joinedFile.mov' (without the quotes). This works perfectly with binairy and ASCII files. to get split and cat, download the GNU Unix Tools http://unxutils.sourceforge.net/. |
