It really is going to depend on what website you visited to download
the scenery from. There are plenty of sites devoted to flight simming
and Microsoft's Flight Simulator in general.
The best advice that I can give you is to visit the following sites:
http://www.flightsim.com
http://www.surclaro.com
I have found that these are going to be the best 2 to begin at. They
also give advice and tutorial for some of the new simmers out there.
You can download files from there, although to be able to get faster
download speeds and access to anything at anytime, it is recommended
you sign up for their premier membership. However, they do charge for
this membership, but if you plan on downloading extra aircraft,
sceneries, etc I would recommend doing it on both sites. The price
does vary between both sites.
For example, Flightsim.com allows you to bring up a map of the World.
In it, you can drill down to countries and states and search for
sceneries for different airports. This was how I was able to find
updated airport information on my local Omaha airport that I couldnt
find anywhere else. Here is the link for you:

As far as Flight Sim 2002 scenery working under 2004, I would venture
to say that it will work. But, you will need to double check the
readme file accociated with the scenery. Nine times out of ten it
will say what version of flight sim it is available for. If you can't
find it that way... Visit some of those sites where you can find,
download, and use some of the latest and greatest things out there.
I should also mention that once you have an account, most of the files
available there are free to use. Some are shareware, but the majority
is freeware meaning you can use it without having to pay anyone else.
But.. like I said.. get that premier memberhip on both sites if you
plan on doing a lot of simming.
See you in the skies! |
