Hello nutcase2-ga,

In the state of Georgia, physicians are required by law to update
their professional profile with the Composite State Board of Medical
Examiners. The homepage of this organization is located at:

http://medicalboard.georgia.gov/

Each physician profile includes the following information:

1. License information
2. Medical education and training
3. Specialty board certifications
4. Hospital staff privileges
5. Disciplinary actions taken (including privilege revocation)
6. Crimal offenses
7. Medical malpractice judgement arbitration awards
8. Medical malpractice settlement amounts

The Board indicates that each member is legally obligated to maintain
a current profile as described here:

"The Patient Right to Know Act requires physicians licensed to
practice in the State of Georgia to provide certain information to the
Board that is to be made available to the public. The Board relies
upon information provided by physicians to be true and correct, as
required by statute. It is an act of unprofessional conduct for a
licensee to provide erroneous information to the Board. The Board
makes no warranty or guarantee concerning the accuracy or completeness
of physician profiles."

A search was conducted for "Tascarella" and yielded a single result
for David William Tascarella (License #38383). A full listing of Dr.
Tascarella's profile is available here:

https://www.gaphysicianprofile.org/profile.ShowProfileAction.action?lic_nbr=038383

From this profile, Dr. Tascarella is shown have a valid and active
license to practice. In addition, here are some specifics surrounding
complaints that you may find of value:

*1. "This physician has indicated that he/she has NOT had any final
public disciplinary action or second subsequent final private
reprimand taken against him/her by a licensing board regulating
his/her medical or any other license in this state or any other
state."

*2. "This physician has indicated that he/she has NOT had any hospital
privileges revoked involuntarily or by agreement, or restricted for
reason(s) related to competence or character. "

3. "This physician has indicated that he/she has NOT been convicted of
a felony, irrespective of the pendancy or availability of an appeal,
or pled guilty or nolo contendere to a felony in any jurisdiction."

*4. "This physician has indicated that he/she has NO medical
malpractice court judgment(s) and/or arbitration award(s) against
his/her license."

*5. "This physician has indicated that he/she has NO medical
settlements against his/her license."

Please note that statements marked with (*) are only for the period of
April 11, 2001 onward. Prior to this date, no law was in effect to
report this information.

I hope you found this information useful - if you have any problems
understanding the information above please post a clarification and it
will be responded to promptly.

I stumbled upon this website purely by mistake while trying to look up
Dr T's phone number. My girlfriend is seeing him for depression and
while who am I to question a Dr and his treatment, I have on more than
one occasion felt uncomfortable about all the meds she is on. So I too
have an inquiring mind about the Dr in question. Mostly the success
rate and so forth. We too are in the G'ville area. We have been
fighting this depression going on a little over a year.

Thank you.............maybe this was a Godsend to see this website

Hi there,

Information such as "success rate" is not required by the governing
Board. If there were prior cases where complaints were made and upheld
by the board, there would be record of it.

There is a fine line in the medical profession between questionable
techniques and reprimandable action. Drug use is tricky because
patients don't know anything about it and trust that their doctor
does.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help...if you have any related research
needs please let us know.
