My household has been graced by many elderly cats. At the moment, we have one who is 19 years old and another who is 16. Cataracts are quite common in older cats, and this condition can give a cloudy appearance to the eyes. The change in sociability that you mention troubles me more than the cloudy eyes. Does the cat still groom herself normally? When she moves, does her motor control seem normal? A change in sociability that is accompanied by poor grooming and/or motor control difficulties sometimes indicates neurological problems. |
