I am doing some research on MBNA (the credit card company) and would
like to know how much they spend on technology.  Specifically, I would
like to know their spending on tech development and tech maintenance
(separately), for each of the last 5 years (2000-2004)

Looking at the company's annual report through 2003, see pages 31,39,64,70,& 82.

Majority of their tech services is provided by a subsidary company
MBNA called ingeniously named MBNA Technology Inc.  I couldn't find
any information concerning the spending, which is probably more along
the lines of what you were looking for.
