Question ID: 441809
In the past few months,I have become addicted to baseball simulated
computer games.Specificly Diamond Legends at Stats.com.My first
introductory question is whether anyone is acquanted with the
concept. My ultimate goal is to find out how the computer works in
order to pick a winning team.I certainly know baseball but there is
more to it than meets the eye.If someone can demonstrate with enough
data that they posess meaningfull knowledge of how to reach my goal we
can START from there.

I don't know if the lack of response is due to the complexity of the
topic or the inadequacy of the price. In either event just a bit of
effort will serve as an answer and be assured that futher work will be
rewarded if volunteered.
Answer
There is no answer at this time.

I would assume it is coded to choose randomly, or possibly players
have differerent ratings, which decides or even "sways the randomness"
of the decision. Still looking.

Actually it is very complx.I am an avid baseball fan who plays fantasy
baseball during the season.I find it fascinating because it's so hard
to figure out. This is because every player in the history of baseball
can be drafted on your rooster of 30 players. Each has a price which
APPEARS to coincide with their actual performance when they played.
But as you say the players are coded presumably to mirror those
performances. What occurs however is that a number of users have either
by experience or more likely by really knowing how the computer
simulation works pick certain players and win over and over.

If you google "stats.com diamond legends" they provide a free tour of
the game site.Perhaps there is a way for me to increase your reward so
that you can buy a team at the site or I can buy one for you.I
consider myself smart and baseball savvy but until I can figure this
out it is going to drive me nuts and if you can help me I don't mind
paying. Thanks

If you google stats.

I sent an e-mail to "The Commish" at Diamond Legends concerning this
question. I will post my question and my response:

Each player has "ratings" based on their real-life careers. The
ratings take into account both offensive and defensive abilities.

From what I understand, you need to know the best and the worst for
each player that you choose, at least for "Diamond Lengends".

Good Luck,
