I've read Sprint agreed to pay $12 million to sponsor the Superbowl XL halftime show. How much did halftime performers receive? (minimum answer should include Rolling Stones and Stevie Wonder although I'd also like to know amounts paid to John Legend and Joss Stone |

from NFL doesn't have to beg, or pay, for acts By Michael McCarthy, USA TODAY http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/super/2006-02-02-super-bowl-entertainment_x.htm "With the exception of travel and production expenses, the NFL has never paid appearance fees to the Stones, Paul McCartney, U2, Michael Jackson, Shania Twain, Britney Spears, Diana Ross, Gloria Estefan, Diddy, Clint Black, Tanya Tucker, Kid Rock or other halftime performers. Why do they sing for free? For the chance to perform on the world's biggest stage. And their ability to cash in later." |
