When commenters turn mean...... ;-) Get to grips with Maxwell?s field equations first. Match the feeder impedance to the dish aperture. Not difficult, but not enough power to do instant damage. Bit like all those daft Ronnie Raygun (and Edward Teller) star wars notions. ?Keep your ICBM still for a few minutes please while we shoot it down.? Incidentally, though probably apocryphal, the military invented microwave cooking by placing their meat pies in front of radar antennae. Best |

Microwave oven operates at a frequency which is strongly absorbed by water molecules. This is how it heats food, which always contains water. Air contains water vapor too. The density of the water vapor varies in different climates, but it is always there. Combination of these two facts leads to the conclusion that microwave oven radiation is strongly absorbed by air. This means that it will not propagate too far. If you ever succeed in making a deadly weapon using a microwave oven as radation source, it will be very short range. |

The military did not invent microwave cooking, but a military contractor did... Raytheon engineers were testing radar antennae when one noticed the chocolate bar in his shirt pocket had melted. Also, super powerful microwave, plus parabolic reflector = detainment by FBI... |

I love the sponsered links...you want to make a deadly ray gun, and HDTV and AWI microwaves pop up to voulenteer their products. And if anything goes wrong www.pcappliancerepair.com will be there to help. -Fractl I hope this post dosent alter the links... |

Thanks bgs. It looks like they beat me to the punch yet again. I've got to find a way to patent these ideas retroactively. http://www.defensetech.org/archives/001102.html http://www.defensetech.org/archives/000697.html |
