I need help coming up with an appropriate title for a marketing job.

The person will be doing market research to identify business
opportunities, analyzing the markets of key customers, preparing
presentations for top management, and tracking our company's marketing
position vs the competition. This will not be just basic market
research. It will involve significant judgement and creativity.

The job title must convey that the person is critical to the business
and that the person has 5 years of solid experience (not entry level).
A manager title is not appropriate at this point. However, a
standard title like "marketing analyst" does not convey how integral
this person will be to the organization. The company is the US
division of a $5 billion / 40,000 employee company.

Please support your recommendations with links to information about
job descriptions for the titles you recommend. Any comments would be
very welcomed as well.

Use of terms like "senior", "lead", "coordinator" seem to be the
solution for many companies.

personnel are titled at various organizations:

How 'bout using titles like "associate" or "coordinator" which all
sorts of companies often use to denote positions
more-advanced-than-entry-level-but-still-not-manager-level. Would
"Marketing Analysis Associate" or "Marketing Analaysis Coordinator" be
accurate to the position?

Also, to the extent that the position involves "business
opportunities", maybe you there's something to be done with the phrase
"New Business Development" which companies sometimes use to convey
those sorts of responsibilities...

You could tack on "senior" or "leader" to any title to make it more important.
