Hi,

I've seen some of our consultants using a plastic film attached to
their notebook screens where they would protect the contents from
being readable or visible at an angle.

I understand 3M invented the technology or is the producer of these
plastic films and I also see that they're somewhat expensive.

Would you please look for a source where I can get a few at a good price.

This is by far the best price I've seen:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4122655574&category=51051

Many merchants who sell privacy glare filters are asking $80 and up.
Please let me know whether or not this will be satisfactory. If it is
not, I'll be glad to continue searching.

Hi Pinkfreud,

The filter you found is for monitors, not LCD's of notebooks. I hope
I'm not mistaken, please check the description.

I may be able to find a privacy screen that will fit your notebook
screen. What are the screen dimensions? What make and model?

Please examine these products to see whether they may meet your needs:

Hi,

They look just right, although I have an IBM ThinkPad T42 which I
think comes with a 14.1" screen.

The model number is 23729VU.

Hi,

I'm gonna ship it to Florida, so here's a list I found with shipping
costs in some of the items pre-calculated along with tax:

I am not sure what you're needing from me at this point. Are you
wanting me to find a better price than those listed on the NexTag site
to which you linked?

Here's a Froogle search that may be useful:

Hi,

Yes, that's the idea, to find a price that's pretty good compared to
the usual list.

What I did was an example of what I was looking for.

Thank you very much for accepting my suggestions as your answer.

Froogle Shopping Search: PF14.1
http://froogle.google.com/froogle?q=PF14.1&num=100&hl=en&lr=&c2coff=1&tab=wf&scoring=p

My favorite price comparison engine other than Froogle is MySimon.
Here's a MySimon price comparison that includes shipping costs (I used
a ZIP code for Miami in my sample search):

MySimon
http://www.mysimon.com/3M_PF14_1_NB_ANTI_GLARE_FILTER_FOR_14_1_INCH_MONITORS/4014-6433_8-795830.html?tag=sort&ttag=upidmlp&sort=asc&orderby=210

Here's a PriceGrabber search that displays what may be your very best
deal, from NextWarehouse:

Pricegrabber
http://pricingcentral.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php?sort_type=bottomline&masterid=120172&isbn=&pid=

The NextWarehouse price is $52.85, with free shipping and no tax. If
you buy in quantity, the unit price will be even lower:

NextWarehouse
http://www.nextwarehouse.com/prod.cfm/2751/PF14.1

I hope this helps. If anything is unclear, or if a link doesn't
function, please request clarification; I'll be glad to offer further
assistance before you rate my answer.

Best regards,

I think I've gone as far as I can with this search; the $50.50 price
at the top of the Froogle search is the best I could locate. I hope
one of my colleagues can find a price that is more suitable.

The price is suitable, as I was looking for a good price below the
list which you've located as well as I.

The issue is for me to ship it to Florida, there would be shipping and
tax issues which differ based on where the company that's shipping it
to me is located to come up with the actual cost.

Regardless, I think you've done well.. Paste your answer and I'll
accept the answer with five stars.
