What single Latin word captures the idea of working together
cooperatively to row a boat. I am only interested in words that have a
positive connotation.

Dear ralatsdc-ga;

Thank you for allowing me to answer your interesting question. I have
examined quite a number of Latin words as applied to your needs and
have found these to be the most applicable:

The New Latin term ?synergia? (Greek: ?synergos?) means to ?work
together? or to work ?in unison?. This is the origin of the word
?synergy?.

You will find many other Latin words that express the act of working
together as it applies to your question, using this source:

Tutuzdad-ga,

Thanks for your effort in collecting an answer.

I would ask, however, that you notice that the word needs to relate to
rowing a boat, not just working together toward any aim, but working
together cooperatively to row a boat.

Can you provide a word like this?

Clarification of Answer by tutuzdad-ga on 06 Feb 2006 13:58 PST
Certainly...

In the last ling I provided specifically, there are Latin words
descriptive or indicative of the act of rowing in particular:

http://catholic.archives.nd.edu/cgi-bin/lookdown.pl?row

remex -migis m. [a rower].

remigatio -onis f. [rowing].

remigium -i n. [rowing]. Transf. [oars; crew].

remigo -are [to row].

This is confirmed by several other sources:

REMIG : V - row;

REMIGATIO : N - rowing;
