I have a Hauppage WinTV pro which should run you about $40 and use Titan for scheduling I have a internal dual layer DVD burner (you dont need dual layer) about $40 Came with Nero to burn the DVDs or you could get a program like http://www.download.com/Amazing-CD-DVD-Burner/3000-2646_4-10458073.html?tag=lst-3-4 which is free. Currently I am archiving Family Guy, Spongebob and History Bites. OR... Buy yourself a settop burner like http://www.walmart.com/search/browse-ng.do?search_constraint=3944&ics=12&ico=0&ref=125875.244117+500846.4293843702&path=0%3A3944%3A133276%3A62055&search_sort=4 if you are looking to burn live tv like a VCR would...thats as little as $100 too. |

So as I understand it that particular Presario comes with a LightScribe DVD Burner already built AND a tv tuner card built in.... in...http://compreviews.about.com/od/maindesk/gr/PrsarioSR1350NX.htm and: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&lang=en&cc=us&y=0&x=0&product=443073&dlc=en&docname=c00280665 it should have also come with WinDVD Creator 2.5. If you have lost this software you can use a product such as I noted in the earlier note. Are you certain on your model? That is all you need. or a set top as I have mentioned. BTW there are ALOT of upgrades available for your product here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?lc=en&lang=en&cc=us&y=0&x=0&product=443073&dlc=en&os=228 Perhaps I have been taking this from the wrong angle...since I assumed you had no hardware and that computer should have all of it.... If you are asking HOW DO I DO THIS.... Your software (when you get it) will allow you to 'tape' the show...this is usually in mpg1 format but you may be able to do other formats like avi or divx (divx is what i do). You then tell you DVD creator software to 'create' a DVD from that file and let it go to work (use DVD-R write once discs, see below)....thats it. Your DVD player (toshiba) should have no trouble with the disk since you are burning a TRUE dvd (not a vcd for instance)....you should try and stick to non-rewritable DVD-R format for the best compatibility...though this person here seems to have no problems with other formats too...http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/customer-reviews/B00006F6ZV/ref=dp_nav_1/104-9211491-3273544?%5Fencoding=UTF8&n=172282&s=electronics |
