Because fish require oxygen, how does their oxygen consumption compare
to humans on an eqivalent weight basis? Fish species and variable
water temperature must play a part. If that entails too many
variables, limited data pertaining to one or a few species will
suffice. To simplify: If a human of X kilograms requires Y grams of
oxygen per day, how does that compare to fish?

frde-ga: It doesn't *matter*...It is just curiosity. Fish have a
lower metabolism rate than mammals. I'm not overly concerned about
fish using up the oxygen supply.

Why does that matter ?
Oxygen is abundent.

Fish are 'born' with a survival rate of under 1 in 1,000

Reducing the attrition makes sense

- oxygen deprivation is pretty rare, competing plants, stagnant areas ?

- I guessed you were interested in fish farming

frde-ga: No, I'm not interested in fish farming, but I am fascinated by fish.
I have a large, beautiful koi pond.
