jbdbean123,
Thanks for the link. If you look closely at the Clarity rating, it's
"I-1" --the letter "I" and the number "1". That solves the mystery.
Using the link I posted previously, you can see the description as:
http://www.eternityweddingbands.com/education_clarity.asp
..." I-1 & I-2 - Inclusions that may affect transparency. If under 10
points, inclusions can not be seen by the naked eye.* ..."
The ring you selected has about 8 small stones totalling 1 carat of
"total weight." Slightly 10 carats each. Based on that, the
inclusions (imperfections) in each stone will just barely, if at all,
be visibile to the naked eye.
As to price, it seems high to me. I like distress sales, buying under
fair market value. I recently purchased a stone from a jeweler during
a liquidation that is an S-1 clarity, G in color, and 62 points, for
$500. It did not include the setting, but an outstanding deal,
nevertheless. A rating of 'I-1' is considered a low quality diamond,
only 2 ratings below it exist.
The color is I-J ..."Nearly colorless. Color is slightly detectable;
I-J grades also offer excellent value..."
Have you noticed that the ring in the catelog is currently out of stock?
..."Product is currently out of stock. Please call 1-800-457-5977 for
more information..."
