Question ID: 442468
I am looking into starting up an online classified ads website so I'm
looking for relevant industry data regarding:

- Growth in both online classifieds and printed classifieds and any
movement between the two.

- How many people actually use classifieds, what are their
demographics, and what are the most active online classifieds
websites?

- Industry pricing for both online and printed classifieds.

- Any other relevant industry data

Thanks!!!

Neil,
I appreciate the comment, but I'm looking for a little more hard data,
although it's possible no studies exist on the subject. I can't use
guesses or suppositions for this.

As for the country, I'm looking at the US right now.

Thanks.

Hey yall,
I just wanted to know if the question is too broad or if I can modify
it to get a reasonable response. It is possible that the data doesn't
exist, but I haven't heard either way at this point. Any help would
be greatly appreciated!

Brent

You might do well to subdivide this, and post it as several separate
questions. Multi-part questions like this one sometimes remain
unanswered because Researchers cannot find all the info you're looking
for; and if we can't find it all, we can't post an answer, since we
are not supposed to post partial answers.

You can spend $100 on a classified ad in the principle newspaper in
Jacksonville, Florida. Other newspapers etc are much less effective.
Online is practical if you are looking for resounces throughout the
USA or much of the world, but not so good for local.
I'll guess 1/2 billion humans have placed one or more classified ads
one or more times in their life time; one billion have responded to
one or more classified ads in their life time. Perhaps only ten
million have completed ten or more classified transactions in the past
365 days. If you want data for a single country or group of countries
you need to say which. Neil
