I need to know what the Mill Rate will be for a property in East Haven, CT after July, 2005. I know what the current mill rate is for the property (33.9) and I know that it will change after the 2005 budget is set in April, 2005 and the tax bill is passed (?) in July 2005. Time is of the essence... |

It doesn't sound good: http://www.senatereps.state.ct.us/press/fasano/070003.htm It was not so much what was included in this budget proposal, but what was left out, that would have been most damaging to the people of Wallingford, East Haven, North Haven and thousands of others across Connecticut. For instance, projected out over just one year, this proposal would cut over $2 billion dollars in aid to municipalities, which would mean our local towns would be forced to make up for this shortfall on their own by either slashing funds for things such as education and town improvement projects or, more likely, drastically raising local taxes. When a politician uses the words, "drastically raising local taxes", hang on. |
