I am trying to find information (preferably a transcript) on an interview with Thomas Friedman of the New York Times that I believe took place on September 11, 2002 on a morning talk show (perhaps with Katie Couric on the Today Show). If it is not possible to find a transcript, I need some sort of proof that this interview took place. Part of the conversation was about the 90s as a frivolous decade, consumed with thoughts of Monica Lewinsky and Gary Condit, while the time after war was declared has been much more 'serious.' |

Today (7:00 AM AM ET) - NBC September 11, 2002 Wednesday LENGTH: 1194 words HEADLINE: New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman discusses September 11th, the war on terror and attacking Iraq ANCHORS: KATIE COURIC; MATT LAUER "Mr. FRIEDMAN: Yeah. Look, the '90s were a decade of real silliness. It was a decade preoccupied with Monica Lewinsky, O.J. Simpson and ultimately Gary Condit on the eve of September 11th. So there is no question we took our eye off the ball as a country and as a society." En |
