I returned from Tanzania on 1/30/2006. I was there on a Medical
Mission. I took a drug screen on my return on 1/30/2006 and it came up
positive for oxavepam and temazepam. The medications I am currently as
follows, mobic 7.5 mg 2, qd,
valtrex 1gm qd, detrol LA, maxide 75/50, zoloft 100mg qhs, trazadone
50-100 qhs, prilosec 20 mg qhs, malarone, cipro, immodium. We ate the
local food the first week were there and during the last 5 days when
we were on Safari. Could you please help me figure this out. I did not
take any benzos during this time. I have been on random screens since
August 2005 and this is the first time this has happened. My nursing
license is hanging in balance here.
Thanks Lakedoc

Well it is pretty obvious.

On Safari, someone laced your food.

Pretty smart, otherwise you would have been a nuisance in the night.

I'll bet that the camp guard(s) were on amphetimines or caffiene tabs.

It is quite possible that you would test positive for other
substances, someone who is smart enough to traquilize inexeperienced
trekkers will dose their breakfasts. Your eggs and hash browns ....

Comical, but also a smart idea on the part of the Safari operator.

BTW, Temazepan is pretty benign, it is used by long haul passengers to
avoid boredom, it has a short half life and you can over-ride it if
you get interested. In essence it is a mild hypnotic.

You are a bit stuffed proving that your Safari operator gave you a
night time tranquiliser, but printing this out and presenting it to
your employers might help - if they are not brain dead.

How I like the well applied teleocratic principle
- it is often so inventive

You might want to consider raising your price to attract a researcher.
I know there are some good ones out there with experience in
questions similiar to yours.
