i'm doing a project on ECE 1331. the project is to search for a web page on the world wide web and this page is to concern something that happened on January 05 1915. The rules are 1) the page must be in good taste 2) the page for the date should contain only information about that specific date (in this case january 05 1915)-not simply a listing of a lot of dates. 3) the pate must be in English 4) the page should be in a standard format, not containing large amounts of graphics/sound/animation or java aplets (cos i need to send this page as a html file thru e-mail so the person who recieve it can be easily and quickly view it). if u can let me know how to save the page as an html file and not save just the link cos my prof want the actual file. and how do i attach this file toa a mail message? Thanx! CAN U REPLY THIS ASAP PLEASE! |

Joel, Please visit this link: http://esnips.com/web/GoogleAnswers where you will find a file named [ chicago trib 1-5-1915.pdf ]. Click on the file, and you can open it up, and/or download to your computer. It is an image of the front page of the Chicago Tribune for the date in question, and it seems it should meet your needs perfectly. It is in PDF format, which is widely used and accepted, and there should be no problem emailing it or viewing it. If, for some reason, I have misconstrued what it is you need, then please let me know, and I will be more than happy to search for an alternative file to better suit you. All the best, pafalafa-ga search strategy -- Used access to archived newspaper sites to find articles from January 5, 1915. | |

It was hard to filter through all the family tree pages - but I did find this one page. http://www.wisconsinhistory.org/wlhba/articleView.asp?pg=1&id=7266 The article deals with a local landmark that was torn down in Wisconsin. As for saving an html page - - In your IE Browser, at the top of the page - Click File - Then Save As - Give the file a name and location you'll remember - Click Save The location you saved the file to will now have a File Folder with the name you gave it. The folder will need to be compressed (WinZip, WinRar, StuffIt) for you to be able to send it in an email. Once it's compressed it's just like sending any other document via email. Hope this helps out! ~Hazydaze~ |
