I too am interested in the answer to his question. I can't find any reference anywhere, even on the Daewoo website, that they even make this set, but it's sitting there at Sam's Club for $1999.84. |

I bought this plasma display from Sam's last Saturday. Drove an hour out of my way to get the only one in the area. Here's what I've found: -- Two (only!) AV inputs: 1 component, 1 composite or S-Vid. -- Also, two PC inputs: 1 RGB D-Sub, 1 DVI -- Analog TV tuner. -- The display looks great, the sound quality of the built-in speakers is mediocre, but you can add 10W external speakers or a HT system. It has an annoying 15-second delay while it "searches" for inputs when you cycle the input button. -- No universal remotes have the codes for the TV. It does come with an industrial-looking remote. -- PIP functions only with AV input inset into a PC screen (watch TV while surfing the Web) -- No mention of this display anywhere on the internet except two posts asking about the Sams units. -- The manual reads much more like the primary purpose of the unit is as a computer monitor, which it does well (up to 1024 x 768). I think that the TV and AV input functions are incidental, since the typical consumer would not tolerate the 15-second lag while it sets up for the next input. I think these were intended to go into kiosk displays where the inputs don't get changed very much. I was going to return it for the limited inputs, annoying lag, and crappy sound, but I decided to keep it because the alternatives are so horrible (CRT's are obsolete, projection TV's are bulky and heavy, other plasmas are twice as high), and the picture remains better than my dead 36" CRT TV. I'll do the switching from my receiver and try not to switch inputs too much from the TV. And having a 46-inch widescreen computer monitor is definitely a novelty. This'll hold me 'til the real plasma HDTV's come down. |

I just bought this same model at Sams. It was on closeout, got everything but a manual. I was curious as to the feedback/reviews and found your comments. I like the tv but would prefer a nicer remote. The picture is decent and the features are acceptable. I've only had it for a couple of days but have pretty much figured it out. There are HD receivers out that use the db15 connectors, I have a RCA DTC100 that uses it from Directv. I had a Sony plasma 42" before and this one is probably not quite up to Sony standards as far as picture goes. I got a healthy discount ($1,200) so I can live with this one for some time, lol. I tried finding a manual online but have had no luck. I already have a Bose surround sound so I've yet to evaluate the built in sound. I have a HDTV receiver on the RGB D-Sub, a dvd player on the S-Video and a video recorder on the component. You can change the input from the remote control and bypass the delay when changing components. I have signed up for Bresnan cable and will see what how it functions with that. With the Sony, I usually had to unplug components to change which was a pain. This one is quieter, no fans which is nice. |

BURN YOUR WALLET OR BUY A DAE WOO YOU'RE CRAZY FOR EVEN THINKING ABOUT BUYING THIS UNSUPPORTED PIECE OF JUNK. I?VE SPENT 4 MONTHS TRYING TO GET MY DAE WOO SET FIXED AND THE WARRANTY REPAIR CENTER CANNOT GET PARTS NEEDED TO FIX MY SET. DANACORP IS DAE WOO U.S. AUTHORIZED REAPIR AND PARTS CO-ORDINATOR FOR THE TV. I PURCHASED. (AFTER I SPENT 2 WEEKS JUST TRYING TO FIND THEM AFTER DAE WOO?S 800 NUMBER FOR SERVICE FIRST SENT ME TO SOME LOCAL IDIOTS WHO SAID THEY WERE AN AUTHORIZED REPAIR CTR BUT REALLY WERE NOT. AND MY SET SAT THERE FOR A MONTH DURING WHICH THEY LIED TO ME EVERY DAY ABOUT ORDERING & RECEIVING PARTS.) WHEN I FINALLY GOT HOLD OF DANACORP A STAFF SERVICE TECH NAMED DANNY SAID TO ME THEY WOULD SEND AN AUTHORIZED WARRANTY REPAIR TECHNICIAN TO MY HOME WITH "EVERY POSSIBLE PART THEY WOULD NEED TO FIX MY SET" WHEN THEY FINALLY SHOWED UP, THEY HAD NOT ONE PART. IN FACT THEY DID NOT HAVE EVEN ONE DAE WOO PART IN THEIR WHOLE STORE. THE AUTHORIZED REPAIR CTR TECH TOOK MY SET TO THIER SHOP AND ORDERED, ON THE ADVICE OF DANACORP?S SERVICE DEPT, TWO PARTS, DANACORP ONLY SHIPPED ONE OF THOSE PARTS TO THEM AND IT DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. THEN DANACORP TOLD THEM THEY HAD ORDERED AND PAID FOR THE PART THAT WAS NEEDED TO FIX MY SET, AND IT WAS SHIPPED AND AS SOON AS THEY GOT IT THEY WOULD OVERNIGHT IT TO THE WARRANTY REPAIR CTR. I SAID ? THEN YOU KNOW THE STATUS RIGHT? PERHAPS AN ETA?? LINDA WHITE, , THE PARTS DELIVERY CO-ORDINATOR SAID? NO, AND DHL COULDN'T TELL HER THE STATUS. ? RIGHT. I GUESS SHE THINKS THAT ALL US FLORIDA PEOPLE WERE BORN YESTERDAY. AFTER TALKING TO HER YOU WOULD THINK THAT DHL HAS ABANDONED THEIR TRACKING SOFTWARE AND RELIES INSTEAD ON PSYCHIC COMMUNICATION. FINALLY AFTER 4 MONTHS OF LIVING WITH THE TV BROKEN DANACORP SAID THAT I SHOULD JUST TAKE IT BACK. THEY ARE SORRY BUT THEY CAN'T GET THE PART. UNDERSTAND THAT DANACORP IS THE PARTS AND SERVICE COMPANY FOR ALL DAE WOO TELEVISIONS IN THE U.S. AND THEY CAN'T EVEN GET A BOARD FOR THEIR OWN RECENTLY RELEASED TV IF THEY HAVE 6 WEEKS TO SOURCE IT. BURN YOUR WALLET OR BUY A DAE WOO |
