Hello wrytry1-ga,

Thank-you for your question.

There were a number of singers at Coretta Scott King's funeral, so it
is difficult to pinpoint the exact one you are referring to.

The order of service for her funeral gives these artists as performing
musical tributes:

· The Lord's Prayer by Sister Miriam Fawaz,New Birth Missionary
Baptist Church, Accompanied by Atlanta Symphony Orchestra

· Vissi d'Arte, Vissi d'Amore (from Tosca, G. Puccini) by Ms.
Juandalynn R. Abernathy, Soprano and Dr. Joyce Johnson, Accompanist

· Ain't Got Time To Die by Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Choir

· Psalms 23 by Jeff Majors and Born Again Dancers of New Birth

· Courage by Michael Bolton

· Stand by Bebe Winans

· His Eye Is On The Sparrow by Stevie Wonder

The full order of the service may be downloaded and viewed here:

If you require any further assistance on this subject please do not
hesitate to ask and I will do my best to respond swiftly.

The singer I was referring to was a large, beautul black lady who sang
opera. IWhat I saw, she was by herself. I did not hear the whole
piece and her voice and talent were unbelievably G R E A T....was that
Juandalynn R. Abernathy?

Now my question is - how did you search for that? I tried myself and
am curious how a 'good searcher' finds things....and I will rate you
the best. Thank you!

Thank-you for the 5-star rating and tip! They are both appreciated.

My search strategy for this was to first of all search Google News
(http://news.google.com) for Coretta Scott King funeral as linked
below:
http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&ned=us&q=Coretta+Scott+King+funeral&btnG=Search+News

This lead me to several stories mentioning different artists and the
order of service. The order of service was found on the following
page:

wrytry1-ga rated this answer:5 out of 5 stars and gave an additional tip of: $2.00
Thank you...now I am trying to find a CD that she recorded.
