Unfortunately, professional, Broadway-level productions are not available to anyone until the producers sell the liscensing rights. Your group would not be able to perform this show until it's had a descent run, and has been given to a group such as Tams-Witmark ( http://www.tams-witmark.com/ )or MTI ( http://www.mtishows.com/ ). I heard that Jungle Book was going to come out and be available for licensing, but I've been unable to find out any concrete information about it. I have an unusually talented group (ages 7-14, lots of boys) right now and would love to do Jungle Book before the boys' voices change. I've used musicals from Tams-Witmark and MTI before. They are good organizations! Thanks for your help. How long does a "descent run" last? |

Tams-Witmark and MTI (along with Rodgers & Hammerstein: http://www.rnh.com/index1.html )are the major organizations that rent out musicals to community groups. They are all excellent organizations. A "decent run" is my way of saying it will run professionally for as long as the producers can make money at it. This includes Broadway performances, professional performances in other, non-Broadway theatres, and tours. Since Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" was recently released through MTI, it's likely that other Disney musicals will be, too. So keep checking MTI's website. Remember, too, that rumors of musicals becoming available often last for many years. I can't tell you how long rumors of the release of "Lez Miz" has been circulating! Kriswrite |
