I vaguely remember a book I used to read at my elementary school
library. From what I remember it being like a mock catalog, the only
page I remember is of a cream that gives you bat wings (and a drawing
of a boy with wings flying). The book was hard cover and larger then
novel size
I would say published before 87-88

I believe your book may be "The Witch's Catalog," by Norman Bridwell.
It was originally published in 1976. You can see the book's cover and

the book I am talking about was a hardcover and I believe in color
