Question ID: 443225
I'm looking for an ERP system designed for an advertising agency. I
know about Harris and their system, EAS
(http://www.broadcast.harris.com/advertising/)
I'm looking for other similar products ... alternatives ...
I've heard about something called Donovan ... but haven't found
anything ... it might be the spelling ... or it might not even exist.
If there is nothing out there (other than EAS) ... where can I go, in
Montréal, to have it custom designed ? (a few suggestions would do the
trick)
One last thing ... it has to be Mac compatible

Thanks !

Hello tipping_point,
I'd like to list some management software made specifically for ad
agency management. I believe at least one of these fits your
requirements in the same way as EAS.

This looks like another premier software for ad agencies:
Creative Manager Pro Home on creativepro.com
http://www.creativepro.com/software/home/2558.html?origin=story

Here is another:
Clients & Profits Online - Ad Agency Software
http://www.clientsandprofits.com

Advertising Agency Software - Agency Central
http://www.agencycentral.com/advertising-agency-software/advertising-agency-software.html
- This one seems to be browser-based.

Advertising Agency Management System Software - Fuimus Corporation
http://www.fuimus.com/

I could not confirm if there is Donovan software, as I could not find it.

Should you wish to find more alternatives, let me know.

Google Search terms used:
ad agency software
erp system ad agency

I hope this has been a helpful answer. If you need something

can. Thank you.

Can't say this answer is very helpful. First two links are programs
with no "media" modules ... media purchase and tracking system that
is. They basically are project management sofware tied in with an
accounting system. Not really what i'm looking for. The third link
doesn't work. The fourth link (fuimus) is useful. 1 out of 4 ... not
so good. So, yes I would appreciate more alternatives ...

Hello tipping_point,
I'm in the process of looking for more alternatives. Meanwhile, the
third link I posted did not work because of a dash that was
inadvertently included at the end of the URL. I will repost it here,
hope it works:

http://www.agencycentral.com/advertising-agency-software/advertising-agency-software.html

Please wait as I look for more alternatives.

Hello Tipping_point,
I'm back with some more options I've found on the Internet. I realize
some of the information posted earlier may not be complete, so I hope
this has more complete data in the pages I linked to.

Project Open: Project Agency
http://www.project-open.com/solution/agency/index.html
- Open source company management software

Here is the main page of Creative Manager Pro, something I had left
out when I posted my original answer:
http://www.creative-manager.com/
- This supplies more complete data about Creative Manager Pro web-based.

Here's a story about Creative Manager Pro's Media Buying Module,
introduced two years ago:
ThomasNet Industrial Newsroom: Archive News Story
http://news.thomasnet.com/fullstory/454216

This article led me to a software called CurrentTrack, for ad agencies:
http://www.biz-community.com/Article/196/13/8989.html
CurrentTrack Home page
http://www.developware.com/index.cgi?id=16

This software claims to be the best:
OmniPilot Agency
http://www.omnipilot.com/Agency.1540.lasso

In case you need a general list, here is one that lists a lot of ERPs,
though it does not indicate which are the ad agency-specific ones.

Google Search Terms used:
ad agency erp solution
ad agency management software
advertising agency management software

I hope this complete needs for further options in the answer I posted.
Anymore needed, I'll be happy to look for them, though what's here is
pretty much most of the ad agency-customized stuff.

Again, the Creative Manager Pro URL has a mistype. I will repost it:

I did not know about creative pro media buying module ... thanks. Did
you post the link for the erp's general list ? ... can't see it ...
If you could find some more articles on the erp you've listed, it would be great !

Thanks for the clarification

Tipping_point,
Whoops! I forgot to post the link containing a general list or ERPs.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Unfortunately, for the love
of me, I couldn't recall where I found that list! I must apologize,
and get back to you once I find that list. I've put others in
substitute among the list of additions below.

Other references to ad agency-specific ERPs I found on the web.

ERP & Accounting Software - ABCSI
http://www.abcsi.com/news-pr-010801.htm
General ERP that may be applied to your company.

Marketing Central - The Total Marketing Resource Management Solution
http://www.marketingcentral.com/
This is for marketing, but may work for an ad agency.

Vertis : Planning Tools | Media Management Software
http://www.vertisinc.com/Content.asp?id=908
This software is targeted to a media agency though.

Advertising agency software- advertising agency extranet for client service
http://www.trichys.com/agency/agency-extranet-collaboration.vm
This is an extranet rather than an ERP, though it may help.

Macsimum News - Macsimum Migration Kit: Contact management software, part 1
http://www.macsimumnews.com/index.php/archive/macsimum_migration_kit_contact_management_software_part_1/
You might want to look at the various options on this list and its
second page, but not AdAgentPlus somewhere in the middle.

Here is yet another ERP list:
ERP Software Comparison: erp software solution, enterprise resource
planning software
http://www.capterra.com/enterprise-resource-planning-solutions

Yet another list:
Ad Agency Software at the Software Network.com
http://www.thesoftwarenetwork.com/Ad-Agency-Software/

Marketing Communications and Advertising Agency Software by Mediaplex Systems
http://www.adwaresystems.com/agency-management.shtml

Again, thanks for giving me a chance to clarify.

I've finally found the list I had forgotten earlier! Hope it helps:

I finally got what I needed ... but it took a while

Here's the link to Donovan Data Systems, the software you originally
inquired about. Good luck!
