Well, figuring out magic tricks is very difficult. Often they work
because the tricks are made to deceive your senses and you often the
answer is so obvious you do not accept the solution.
For example, the magician David Copperfield once did a trick where he
made the Statue of Liberty disappear. There were 100 or so observants
on a platform looking out onto New York Harbor at night with the
Statue lit up from below. The lights were turned off and then turned
back on and the Statue was gone. It was explained that the trick was
accomplished because the platform rotated very slowly and the
observants were looking in the opposite direction to an open part of
the Harbor where Copperfield had staged a lighting system in the same
observation area.
My point is that my guess for this trick is that the burger was pulled
out from behind the menu. Part of the menu folds up to give the
magician access to a compartment behind the menu. The seam for the
access is probably located a few inches away from the picture of the
burger. As he puts his hands together he folds up the seam, removes
the burger, and then hides it from the observers and proceeds to fold
it back down.
Now, it is hard to tell if the observers are in on the trick, it seems
to me that they may be. I think the trick is meant for the woman in
the smaller picture. It is true more often than not that street
magicians who perfom for television employ people to appear amazed
because the trick is done for the camera.
Of course this is just a guess, but I will tell you that my father was
an amateur magician and many tricks were explained to me at a young
age which of course takes all the fun out og it.
Hope this helps. |
