Question ID: 443715
We purchased our home 12-22-98 with the assistance of my step-brother
and father in law as our credit was poor. The 2 obtained a mortgage
for us. In the mortgage papers it stated our current lender (original
mortgage bank#1) had sold it to another (bank #2) and all payments should
go to them and we would hear from then within 15 Days for payment coupons.
well we sent out the first 3 payments which we had the coupons for but
they were never cashed. After many phone calls no one wanted to talk
to us and one woman kindly stated if you dont hear from me dont call
back. None of the banks had our account.
We are trying to get an equtity loan now I have transferred deed to my
name and we have been paying the taxes from day one but it is the
original mortgage bank#1 that is on title bank#2 sent me a letter
stating they have no interest in the house title etc... So how do I
remove bank#1 from title? My Mortgage note clearly states they sold it
to bank#2. We are in a rush and have many people working on this
matter. Please if you can help ASAP Thank you. We live in NY if that
matters for the law. I forgot to mention all contact information for
bank#1 is inaccurate. That is how we actually got to speak with #2 as
the number was transferred to them. They told us bank#1 was no longer
in business. So we have no way to contact them.
