If I find more information regarding the 2002 Stanley Cup ratings,
would you accept my response as an answer?

Yes, IF you can tell me WHERE I can get: the televison ratings for the
2002 World Cup; the television ratings for the 2002 NHL Stanley Cup
playoffs, particularly the finals; and the 2002 NBA playoffs. I am not
a "member of the media" so Nielson will not provide this info directly
to me. But it is available from (as you cite) "various media sources."
Can I get this information?

The link I provided below in the comment are my sources, plus I
searched in Lexis-Nexis for newspaper articles published after the
events took place. Are those valid sources or do you want just ONE
source that contains those information?

I did not realize that you asked for further clarification (I've been
waiting all this time... shouldn't I have recieved another email or
something w/ your request? For all the sophistication of google, I'm
not even sure if this is where I'm supposed to type this....) I want a
source or sources for nielson ratings for those events. A one-stop
site for all would be great, but I'll take what I can get. And please
include the links, or web address.

The traditional source to find TV Ratings in the US is Nielsen Media
Research.
http://www.nielsenmedia.com

Below are the ratings for the requested events, as reported by various
sources subscribing to Nielsens Media Research. All figures are in
millions. Last digit is approximate.

World Cup:
Sen.-Fra. (5/31): .9 + .943 on Univision
Eng.-Swe. (6/2): 2.1
USA-Por. (6/5): 2
Arg.-Eng. (6/7): 3 + 1.0 Spanish-speaking TV
Kor.-USA (6/10): 3.9 (combined with rebroadcast)
Pol.-USA (6/14): 3.8 (combined with rebroadcast)
Ger.USA (6/21): 5.0
Total: 21 for home team
These figures are for the Disney-owned broadcasting stations (ESPN,
ESPN2, and ABC), they do not include Spanish-speaking stations, which
probably has larger ratings.

Since I can't find info on the Stanley Cup, I'm posting this as a
comment.

1. Still need the NHL #'s.

2. Nielson site only works for those on the inside, i.e., "members of
the media" who have an account. Nielson won't provide the info w/o the
cash.
