There is a CD recordingg entitled "Transfigured Bach" which features several arrangements of Bach pieces by Ignaz Ffriedman including Also hat Gott die Welt geliebt, BWV 68: no 2, Mein gläubiges Herze. I would really like to learn how to play these pieces on the piano. Where can I buy a copy of these? | |

These arrangements were nearly all in a volume published by Allan's Music in Melbourne, Australia (their number 1225), although some of the Bach arrangements were published earlier, in slightly different versions, in Europe. I have, I think, all of the versions. The Allan's volume is now permanently out of print, and they are apparently no longer really in the publishing business, apart from band music. I should try various music libraries, because many may have this volume. Allan Evans of Arbiter Records may be the best source for Friedman information - look up "Arbiter Records". You can also try to contact Petronel Malan, the pianist of "Transfigured Bach". Both web sites should have contact information.b |
