Hello Researchers,

First of all, please bear in mind that English is not my native
language, so please forgive me for all the typos and grammatical
errors that this message may contain.

I have been assigned the deceptively simple task of choosing the best
antivirus software for our company?s computers.

We are only interested in the Antivirus part of the equation. I.e. we
don?t need an integrated firewall, as we are already using a hardware
solution that has proved to be very suitable.

In order to make a good decision, I need the following questions to be
impartially answered. In every case, I need you to cite the source of
the studies and tests that back up the conclusions:

1) What antivirus software provides the highest level of protection
against viruses (highest detection rate against known and unknow
threats)?

2) Which is the fastest antivirus, when analyzing files from the hard disk drive?

3) What antivirus consumes the less computer resources when it?s being
executed (Memory and CPU usage)?

4) What antivirus provides the highest protection level from http
attacks that may occur while browsing the web?

Thanks

Sorry for being brief on this, but Symantec Norton Antivirus. Anybody
I have seen with it has very rarily any issues with the software. It
has very good protection and ratings. Norton Antivirus got a 4 out of
5 star rating from CNET. For protection while browsing the Internet,
look into getting Adaware or Microsoft AntiSpyware. I preferably liked
Microsoft Antispyware. If you choose Norton, you wont regret it. Its
above descent definetly.

I must say that the company that I work at and am an antivirus
administrator for, uses Symantec Antivirus, and it is VERY VERY VERY
system resource intensive. I would seriously consider AVG server
software and clients. AVG hardly uses resources and is VERY VERY
supported and updated many many times a week, unlike Symantec who does
once a week.

Yes, that is the weak link with mainstream antivirus programs.
Viruses can spread around the country in a few minutes, a one week
update cycle is the reason most companies using them still have major
invasions.

the best if all of your computers are a part of a windows domain is
(SAV) symantec antivirus corp.. it allows you to centrally manage all
your av clients so all the software gets updated and u can schedule
scans and what not the new one even blocks against spyware which is
very good
