My mother is in a nursing home in NJ. Admitted Jan 4, 2006. Just
removed from Medicare and has not applied for Medicaid. In a
wheelchair, has dementia. I have power of attorney and am in the
process of selling her house. I live in upstate NJ - Jefferson
county. If I use assets from the sale of the home to make improvements
to my home before she moves in, will Medicaid ask for that money back
when she qualifies for Medicaid ? What if she never moves in ?
