Hello honeybear,
Here are several sites that suggest naturopathic and alternative
therapies for polymyositis. (Neither Google Answers nor I endorse any
of these sites). This answer is intended for informational purposes
only, and is not intended to replace sound medical advice by a
licensed physician.
I have listed support groups and forums following the naturopathic
sites, and following that, I have listed some additional sites for
your perusal.

Newsletter
?My friend Jenny and I organise lunches 3 times a year so that fellow
dermatomyositis and polymyositis sufferers can get together and
compare notes. One of our regulars ? Graham who may have IBM has been
experimenting with alternative treatments and also looking at his
diet. He has found that by taking wheat out of his diet his legs
appear to be stronger and he falls over less frequently. I am also
wondering whether diet is affecting my condition too. In May last year
I went to a talk by Professor Jane Plant who talked about her
experiences with cancer and because of the evidence she has collected
the fact that she feels that dairy produce could be a factor with
breast cancer and prostrate cancer. After the talk I decided that
perhaps it would be healthier if my husband and I started using Soya
Milk and Soya Spread instead of cows milk and butter and we began this
in July/August.?
