I have a pc at home that connects via Cable. I installed software
VPN(Nortel) to connect to work. My problem now is I can not browse the
web while I am connected to the VPN , I receive a "page not found"
(Cannot find server or DNS Error Internet Explorer)error when connect
to Internet.
I am not getting the error all the time sometimes, I am able to
connect and browse Internet without any problem.
I uninstalled the software and it started working as soon as installed
the software and stoped working as soon as reboot and tried to connect
again. Once in a while all of the sudden it starts working it's very
unpredectible
Please help resolving the problem

Hello Vpn,

Hmm. Most likely you are having a problems with something like:
 - network settings (e.g., DNS server)
 - proxy settings (if your company uses a proxy)
 - security settings in your office
the symptoms imply the first problem, but the other problems could
cause the symptoms you report.

There are some good sites that walk through different types of
problems. For example:
  http://www142.nortelnetworks.com/bvdoc/contivity/doc_html/help/h_trou.htm
appears to be written for a network administrator to help a user to
get connected with full connectivity. You mention occasional DNS
problems and
http://www142.nortelnetworks.com/bvdoc/contivity/doc_html/help/h_trou.htm#29977
indicates some possible troubleshooting steps. You mention using
Windows XP, that system is not specifically listed in this guide but
the other steps (e.g., for Windows NT) may also work on your system.

A few things to check:
[1] When your VPN connection "fails" do you have problem accessing
internal sites (to your work), external sites (outside your work such
as google), or both. This would indicate to some extent the scope of
the problem and possible causes.
[2] If you have the IP address to a web server, can you enter a URL such as
  http://192.168.0.1/
and get access to that server This would indicate you have a physical
/ logical connection but fail to get a proper Domain Name (DNS) look
up.
[3] If you reinstall again (and it works), what are the network
settings and how do they differ from when you reboot & connect gain.
The guide I refer to above refers to a command
  ipconfig/all
which can display all the network configuration information or see
  http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=314850
for more information. You should be able to copy / paste the output of
this into notepad or another application for capture / comparison.
That information will provide clues on what is not getting set up
properly after reboot.

Please take a look at this information / do some of the steps to see
what the responses are so I can provide a more focused solution.
