What would make the sites "the top 20 boat naming sites in the world"
--to you? There are lots of "measuring sticks" to measure by. Do you
want the top 20 boat naming sites by page rank?

Hi Cynthia
I run a business in called Boat Names Australia, guess I am trying to
find out who my main competitors are internationally
and they would be the sites that receive the most hits in the USA
or the top 20 search results in the USA
is there away I can search google while I'm in Australia to give me
the same search results as if I were in the US?
also would like to know where i rank at the moment if searched from USA
Cheers Chris

To the best of my knowledge, the global location of the searcher does
not change search results, except in countries that require Google to
filter results.
Go to Google.com and enter:
Boat Names Australia
If your results are the same as this, then there is no difference.
And if this is you, you are at the top of the first page of results,
it doesn't get any better than that. To see your top 20 competitors,
scroll down and note the 20 listings or so below you that come up in
the same search:
Boat Names Australia
http://www.boatnames.com.au/
Would you like me to make the list for you? It seems silly, they're
already in a list!

Hi Cynthia
1. Geographical differences in search results:
I don't understand how the search results could be the same everywhere if
pay per click advertising can be set to geographical parameters and
the higher you spend the higher your position, then the more people
that click on the site the better ranking and then this resulting in
being placed in the right hand collum, surely this is all relevant to
different geographical positions and if I search from here I'm not
going to get the same results?
2. Order of importance:
I guess the top 20 sites that receive the most clicks might be an
easier way of doing it.
3. Position one
if the search is so specific as " Boat Names Australia" we would have
to come up number one anywhere but most people would not search that,
the most searched result is "Boat Names" this is the one i am
interested in.
Thankyou for your patience
Cheers Chris
