I need to know approx. how many britons lives abroad, i mean, how many
are living outside U.k., for example in france, because maybe they did
marry a french partner, or in germany because they found a work in
germany...
I don't need how many in each country, but only the total sum of uk
people who went to live abroad (you should not calculate people went
abroad for holidays)
And if this trend is increasing each year (so it means people are
"escaping" from u.k.) or decreasing.If possibile i need links to pages
of officials instututional website

UK government statistics on international migration appear in a report
titled 'International migration: Migrants entering or leaving the
United Kingdom and England and Wales, 2003" issued by the Office of
National Statistics.

It is 69 pages long and the tables you require start at Table 2.1,
page 24, and go on for several pages. In each table you need the
statistics under the heading 'outflow'.  Also look for the term
?out-migration?. The information covers the period 1994 - 2003. I
advise that you read the notes on how the statistics were collected
and collated.

The summary also provides some information you may require. For instance,
?Between 1994 and 2003, approximately 1.5 million UK born people
migrated from the UK to other countries. During the same period, more
than 800,000 UK-born migrants returned to the UK.?

this is very interesting, but can you also find how many now are the
britons living outside uk? Somehwere i read there are 16milion britons
living in the world outside u.k. but i'm not sure if it is correct and
don't remember where i read it
