What is the current annual advertising expenditure in the United
States? I am trying to compare it to the current DoD budget.

According to TNS Media Intelligence, total advertising expenditures in
the United States are expected to increase 5.4 percent in 2006 to
$152.3 billion. Therefore, in  the year 2005 total advertising
expenditures were $144.1 billion.
