Dear wal:

Are you sure you don't mean Redlich?

Hello wall-ga.

The name Redlich might very well be associated with a number of large
cases in Australia as a major law firm in Australia is "Holding
Redlich". They were involved among other things in a major lawsuit
regarding tabacco companies(McCabe).
Is it possible that Redlich you are seeking is not the plaintiff or
the defendent, but the legal counsel involved in any number of cases?
Perhaps they litigated a class action lawsuit that had major
consequences.

RADLICH is name and criminal law or fraud was allegedly the game as a defendent

If it was a serious crime, you could try Crimenet -

Dear Wal,

I found no such a case. However, the name Radlich is pretty rare one
(it's some distortion of an East European Jewish name) and it could be
that the name is spelled differently. Could it be in your case? Where
did you get/find the name from?

When I want to find out of a party has been involved in litigation in
a particular location, I call the court and ask. They can usually find
cases by party name, and can provide the names of the other parties
(as they appear on the computer screen) and case number. Australia was
probably computerizing its court dockets in the 1980's, although the
file itself is amost assuredly microfilmed, microfiched, or buried in
a warehouse. Also, asking by surname alone for a list of cases over a
ten year period is likely to make a court clerk surly.

Anyway, if the asker or a researcher wants to be so old-fashioned as
to actually pick up a phone, perhaps http://www.fedcourt.gov.au/ or
http://supremecourt.vic.gov.au/ will be a good starting point.
