I am looking to undergo a career change but do not know how to go about it. First of all, I would like to become a professional/stunt driver. This is something that I have always wanted to do; however, I do not know how to go about it. Where do I learn the techniques? Are there schools? Are some better than others? How do I get publized for a commercial or film. |

Hello. To start with, you will need to know the basics and attend a school that will teach you how to drive a stock car before you get into doing stunts (for your own safety). I am working on building a website for stock car racers since that is the profession my future son-in-law is in. I also have a job search website (see below) that tells you in general how to find a job and target your market. That will be something you will do after you become trained in the basics of auto racing. My son in law learned how to race on his own, but is part of a family of stock car racers. I'm sure many of the techniques he learned were passed down from generation to generation. Many times he winds up doing stunts even on the stock car racing track, but he has learned how to handle the cars he drives. You could visit the stock car racing tracks and become friendly with the stock car owners and ask them how they got their start. Ask if any of them would know of stock car racers who became stunt drivers or who would be willing to teach you or train you for free or for a fee. If not, I found this great source of training schools on the internet that you can research and apply to for more information. This source should provide exactly what you need in learning the basics of stock car racing first. http://www.racingschools.com/rs/Stock-Cars-c-901.html If you want to go directly to stunt car driving, here are a few other sources to go to: http://www.bobbyoresports.com/ http://www.bobbyoresports.com/cardriver.htm http://www.popularmechanics.com/automotive/motor_sports/1268846.html http://www.motortrend.com/features/consumer/112_0407_race_links/ http://www.raceschool.com/newsite/instructors.html http://www.lacr.net/stunt.html Happy stunt driving. . . maddunn www.jobsearchtop10.com |
