I need to locate the SNMP OID to query the serial number
of a Cisco CatOS (formerly Kalpana) model of switch.

Alternatively, if you find the SNMP MIB file for Cisco's CatOS based
switches that contains a "serial number" field, that would work as
well.

Note: CatOS is sometimes referred to as CatIOS

FYI: The "OLD-CISCO-CHASSIS-MIB" MIB file contains the OID for
determining the serial number of a device if it is running IOS. I
need the OID for CatOS.

I am not a Cisco expert, but I did find a piece of software that states will:
"Report.Version information (Builds a report of device serial numbers,
hardware and software versions)"

at the following location:

Starting with IOS 12.0, all objects defined in OLD-CISCO-CHASSIS-MIB have been
deprecated. They have been replaces with objects defined in the
ENTITY-MIB.my document.

the "serial number" field found on ENTITY-MIB:
Object	entPhysicalSerialNum
OID	1.3.6.1.2.1.47.1.1.1.1.11
