Where can I go to receive adacolumn apheresis treatment for my
ulcerative colitis? I live in California but am willing to travel
anywhere in the world. It's not yet approved by the FDA for use here,
but I want to have it anyway! I also need to know how much it will
cost and how long of a wait I would have to endure.

A preliminray look suggests much of the research seems to be from
Japan. There was a multicenter trial in 2004 at
Department of Gastroenterology, Hyogo College of Medicine,
Nishinomiya, Japan; First Department of Internal Medicine, Nagoya
University School of Medicine, Nagoya, Japan;
Second Department of Internal Medicine, Chiba University School of
Medicine, Chiba, Japan;
Second Department of Internal Medicine, Shiga University of Medical
Science, Ohtsu, Japan;
First Department of Internal Medicine, Hirosaki Universal School of
Medicine, Hirosaki, Japan;
Department of Internal Medicine, Keio University School of Medicine, Tokyo, Japan;
Department of Gastroenterology, Fujimoto Hospital Medicine, Osaka, Japan

the results were positive, paper here:

Mount Sinai may still be running a trial, it might be worth trying to contact them
