Hello,
I am writing a book and need some information. My question involves a
exact time period...1900 Estes Park, Colorado.
What was life like on a ranch in that year? I specifically want to
know what kind of food, and clothes were available, and what was the
most commonly used gun? What Indians in the area were considered
friendly?
Also, in the year 1900 how big would a ranch usually be? What kind of
ranch equipment would they use? How much snow they would get during
the winter, and how would they deal with it?
Any information about the buildings a ranch would have for workers or
to protect livestock during harsh weather. Also any major events that
happened in the area would be helpful.
Last question, what would the closest town have to offer in services
such as barbers, salons, etc., and how long would it take to get to
Colorado Springs on horseback.
Thank you.

Hello writergirl-ga

We're delighted that you've chosen to bring your question to us. Let
me offer some friendly advice to a first time user. Your question is
milti-faceted and will require some extensive research. Some
researchers may not be able to answer all of the questions with the
level of detail you require simply because that many questions are
quite time consuming and some of the answers may even be difficult, if
not impossible to find. I recommend you break your questions up into
several smaller priced increments and include two or three questions
per post. That way perhaps a number of us can work on your questions
from different angles and get you the answers you need. Otheriwse it
may take one researcher a VERY long time to come up with the answers
to all your questions.

Good luck;
