Tally Ho!!!!:) and Aloha!!! I am searching for the Far Side cartoon by Gary Larson involving a very large lady coming off a bench looking for her cat, which she has accidently sat on. With the comment "Here Kitty, Kitty..." underneath , if anyone can tell me in which Far Side book it's located in that would be great!!! The name and title/year is what I am looking for, if you have the page number even better!!! Thank you!!! Samantha Brown:)))))) The Great North - Canada |

Hello samantharandy-ga, Thank-you for your question. It is notoriously difficult to track down Far Side cartoons due to their copyright being very strictly protected. "It is difficult to find many Far Side cartoons online since Larson (and/or his publishers and lawyers) have been very effective at persuading people to not infringe on his copyright. There is a widely distributed letter online, attributed to Gary Larson, in which he explains the "emotional cost" to him of people displaying his cartoons on their websites, and asks them to stop doing so." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Far_Side#Online Lukily we can answer your question as Gary Larson has published a complete catalogue of Far Side cartoons. It is available here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0740721135/ http://dogbert.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?y=10&isbn=0740721135&x=61 http://search-desc.ebay.ca/Complete-Far-Side-calvin_W0QQbsZSearchQQcatrefZC6QQcoactionZcompareQQcoentrypageZsearchQQcopagenumZ1QQflocZ1QQfposZQ5AIPQ2fPostalQQfromZR10QQfsooZ1QQfsopZ1QQfstypeZ1QQftrtZ1QQftrvZ1QQftsZ2QQsacatZQ2d1QQsadisZ200QQsargnZQ2d1QQsaslcZ2QQsatitleZQ22CompleteQ20FarQ20SideQ22Q20Q2dcalvinQQsbrftogZ1QQsofocusZbs The details of the book are: · Title: The Complete Far Side 1980-1994 · Author: Gary Larson, Steve Martin · Hardcover: 1272 pages · Publisher: Andrews McMeel Publishing; 1st ed edition (October 1, 2003) · Language: English · ISBN: 0740721135 If you are not looking to spend that amount of money just to get a single cartoon, you may be able to locate a copy of the book at your local library. The following link enables you to search for the book at a number of public libraries in Canada: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Booksources&isbn=0740721135#Canada |

Thanks for your help, I will go to the library and check it out!! I already knew about the volume of his work from 1980-1994 but I was hoping a specific answer. Didn't want to have to search through all the toons!! Oh well, maybe I'll get a good comment out there?? Thank you from Canada....go Olympic Team go!!! Samantha Brown:)))) |

the cartoon your looking for is not a Far side ; it's a Herman cartoon by Jim Unger and was first published in 1985. Where you can get a copy I don,t know. It has been a favorite of mine since it was first published. I still have a laminated copy. There are Herman collection books . |
