Stacianodel, Yes, humans can sweat blood although it is very rare. It is called hematidrosis. Here is a link that discusses it, first in relation to Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane on the night prior to His crucifixion and briefly, in regard to medical literature. http://www.apologeticspress.org/articles/2223 Cheers. |

According to Dr. Frederick Zugibe (Chief Medical Examiner of Rockland County, New York) it is well-known, and there have been many cases of it. The clinical term is "hematohidrosis." "Around the sweat glands, there are multiple blood vessels in a net-like form." Under the pressure of great stress the vessels constrict. Then as the anxiety passes "the blood vessels dilate to the point of rupture. The blood goes into the sweat glands." As the sweat glands are producing a lot of sweat, it pushes the blood to the surface - coming out as droplets of blood mixed with sweat. |

You may also be interested in Chromidrosis which is coloured sweating. I think this may cover red or "bloody" sweat. "Chromidrosis or colored sweating is an extremely rare malady. The reported cases have occurred mostly in hysterical women, and some of them have been found to be the result of imposture. The very existence of the affection has been doubted, but a sufficient number of cases have been seen by competent observers prove that it occurs. Blue, yellow, brown, and red sweat have been seen, but the source and nature of the coloring-matters are not definitely known." ? Gottheil, Illustrated Skin Diseases.
