Would that be Johann Ernst von Sachsen-Weimar? Do you have the year
or the name of the concerto?

There is no date or other name on it. There are sliver tabs saying
Sachsen Conceto on all corners. The only other mark is a fish like
shape on each of these silver plates.

Sachsen could be German.
Is that the brand on the instrument (assuming a concerto is a musical instrument)
Please add some more information
What do you mean by "concerto"

Regards, Michel

Could this be a "concertina," a musical instrument that resembles a
small accordion?

Does the instrument look like this?

It looks almost identical to that and yes it is a concertina. I
couldn't find any date on it anywhere but it is really old I am sure.

You can check to see how high the prices go on e-bay.
I would research more, but all of the sites are in
German. Even once they are translated, its hard to come by the information.

Good luck!

Does the instrument have any words on it other than "Sachsen?"

I found a series of posts in the rec.music.makers.squeezebox newsgroup
that discuss a bandoneon (a type of concertina) with a label which
says "Sachsen," along with several other words. Sachsen is probably
not a brand name, but a reference to a location in Germany that is
also known as "Saxony."

This abbreviated link will redirect you to the newsgroup posts
mentioned above.
