I bought and old Hitachi VM-5000A full size video camera. I now need a
battery charger and power cable but most sites only sell the battery.
Perhaps a standard battery charger will work but I don't know which
one goes with that battery. I would also be open to using a power cord
if one is available.

Lots have fancy charge level detection but if the battery charge
socket has only two contacts a slow charger of suitable voltage should
be OK. For simple systems you can supply a relatively high voltage as
long as it is current limited to under 50mA or less to be sure of
avoiding overheating.

Presuming the power required is low voltage from a PSU? Again, if the
power connector is two contact, any good stabilised DC supply of the
correct voltage and sufficient current capacity should be fine. Do you
have any more details?
