I am looking to create very fine particulate from a medical-grade polyester fiber (Vascutek Twillweave: http://www.vascutek.com/usa/index1.htm). My target paticle size is 0.5 - 20 um, with 95% < 5 um. I need a very small amount of output material (<1g), but it must be virtually uncontaminated by the size reduction process. Can you help me find a vendor who has experience with projects of this sort, and can accomplish the task? |

Hi Kincade What if the fiber were frozen in distilled water and a microtome used to section the block. The water could then be allowed to evaporate. I would think you could get a very uniform particle length. Pathology labs almost everywhere should be able to do it, you could enquire locally as to the feasibility and cost. |
